Intro launched!

The intro for Freshman: Physical Education is available now! I've been working on this project for a while now and can barely believe it's finally out in the world.

The intro covers the afternoon of Connor's first day at college, with some branching choices and a climactic ending. I hope anyone who gives this a try enjoys it. The next part of the first day is in active development now!

Hi!

I'm new to this whole game/website, I just finished playing the intro (amazing work!). I was just wondering if I have to download every part to play or if there is a whole game I could download.

Hello! I'm glad you enjoyed!

Many games on Itch.io (mine included) are in development, meaning they're not completed and introduce new content as development continues. Basically like an early access game on Steam.

I'm still pretty early in the development of this game, and what's on here is the latest version (v0.1.4). I'm releasing updates every few months to add additional content. The next update will add the club as an option of where to hang out in the evening instead of Matt's place or the frat party. Once I know exactly what day I'll release that, I'll be sure to post a release schedule here to let everyone know.

Oh, I just saw what post you replied to! What you played was indeed just the demo. There's much, much more content in the current version of the game. You can download it from the game's main page or from this post: https://freshmenvn.itch.io/freshmen-physical-education/devlog/463190/day-two-par...

Thank you very much!

That helped a lot. I'm still a little confused though. Do I have to download each part? or can I just download the latest version and everything will be saved?

The latest version contains every part that has been released so far, so it's the only file you need to download. Your saves and gallery unlocks are kept on a different area of your computer than the game itself, so it's also safe to delete the old game version and then open the new game version to continue playing with your save data intact.

Since the game is in-development, there may be times where the game pops up an error after you load a save to continue from one game version to another. If that happens, the quickest way to resolve it is start a new game, then use the skip option to zoom back to where you left off. The game keeps track of any dialogue you've already seen, so you won't need to click to proceed through old content except to reselect choices.

Itch.io actually has an app you can use to download and update games, which may make the  process easier than downloading it manually. There's info on that here: https://itch.io/app
